Privacy Policy

The short version: Almost everything you track in Wellness AF lives only on your phone. We never sell your data, never show you ads, and never let anyone track you across other apps. Your weight, calories, and measurements never leave your device. The only things stored on our servers are what you choose to share in the Club community, and you can edit or delete those anytime.
This policy explains what Wellness AF (“we,” “us,” the “app”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information stored on your device
When you set up the app and track your progress, this information is saved locally on your phone and is not sent to us:
- Your profile details: name, age, height, weight, goal weight, activity level, and your calorie and macro targets.
- Your food logs, weight logs, lesson progress, points, streaks, and your buddy.
This data stays on your device. If you delete the app, it is removed.
Information we collect (only if you join the Club)
The Club is our optional community feature. You can use the entire rest of the app without it. If you choose to join, you sign in with Sign in with Apple, and the following is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase):
- An account identifier from Apple, and a name and email address if you choose to share them (Apple may provide a private relay email so we never see your real one).
- The profile you create for the community: a display name, a username, and an avatar (an emoji or a photo you upload).
- Your community activity: the wins you post (such as streaks and completed lessons), cheers, comments, group memberships, and the consistency points used for the weekly leaderboard.
Your weight, calorie counts, and measurements are never part of the Club and never stored on our servers. The community only ever shows your effort and your wins. Avatar photos you upload are publicly viewable within the community.
Food photos
If you use the photo feature to estimate a meal, the photo is sent securely to our nutrition-analysis partner (Anthropic’s Claude) to identify the food and estimate its nutrition. Photos are used only to give you that estimate. They are not used to identify you, are not used for advertising, and are not kept after the estimate is returned.
Apple Health
Wellness AF can write the nutrition you log (calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat) to Apple Health, but only if you turn this on yourself in Settings. It is off by default.
When it’s on, the calories and macros from the meals you log are saved to Apple Health’s Nutrition section so your food data can sit alongside the rest of your health information. This happens entirely on your device. We do not read any data from Apple Health for nutrition, and your Health data is never sent to our servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or marketing. You can turn it off at any time in the app, and you can review or delete what we’ve written in the iOS Health app under Browse ‚Üí Nutrition.
Separately, with your permission, Wellness AF reads your step count from Apple Health to power your movement goal. We only read steps, and we never read your other Health data.
How we use your information
- To run the app: track your progress, deliver lessons, and power your buddy.
- To run the Club community you opt into, including the leaderboard and groups.
- To estimate nutrition from food photos and barcodes you scan.
- To keep the community safe (reviewing reported content and blocks).
Services we rely on
We use a small number of trusted providers to operate the app:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, the App Store, and Apple Health.
- Supabase: our database, sign-in, and photo storage for the Club.
- Anthropic (Claude): analyzing food photos to estimate nutrition.
- USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts: food and barcode nutrition lookups (we send the search term or barcode, not your personal information).
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show you advertising and do not allow third-party ad tracking.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe, your payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment-card details. You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or remove your info: you can change your profile, and edit or delete your community posts and comments, inside the app.
- Delete your Club account: you can request deletion of your community account and its data at any time. Contact us at support@wellnessafclub.com.
- Health and camera permissions: you control these in your phone’s Settings and can turn them off anytime.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete the data we hold about you. Email us and we will help.
Children
Wellness AF is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our servers. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
